What to expect.

Booking and consultation

You can start your tattoo journey with me by getting in touch! You can contact me via website form, Facebook or Instagram with your ideas. I recommend finding reference pictures of what it is you’re thinking of. This can be images of styles you like so I can have a greater understanding of what you like when it comes to designing.

Once we have discussed the tattoo and I will give an estimate for the time needed to book. You can then go ahead and either book online (via card) or head into Imagink Tattoo Selby (via cash) to pay your deposit.

When will my design be finished?

Your design will be drawn up 1-2 days before your tattoo. The reason for this, is that it allows you to make any changes to what you would like on the day leading up to the week before. (There will be no extra charge unless it would require less/more time than the initial quote). It also keeps the design fresh in my mind ready for the session.

I will show you the design at the start of the appointment, this will allow us time to make changes/tweaks to the design if needed and we will then size it up against your skin.

What should I expect on the day?

On arrival you will be required to fill out a consent form then we will confirm the design and size up the tattoo. Once we have sized up the tattoo, I will create a stencil then we will head to the tattoo room.

I will apply the stencil and give you chance to have a good look before we begin tattooing. Once we are happy with the positioning of the stencil, I will set up the station whilst the stencil dries.

Now we’re ready to go and the tattoo process begins! I will start with a small line to get you used to the feeling. If you are interested in using numbing cream, this will need to be applied roughly 1 hour before.

Once the tattoo is finished, you will get chance to look at your tattoo before we get it wrapped up. I will then go through the after care process and give you an aftercare sheet to go home with.

Is there anything I should do before my appointment?

Make sure you eat before your appointment. Due to the nature of tattooing, it can sometimes result in feeling faint - to help prevent this eat before your appointment. We also recommend bringing a sugary drink and some snacks with you to your appointment.

We recommend not drinking alcohol 24hrs before your tattoo and to drink plenty of water.

What to expect after the appointment.

You will be given full aftercare advice and a sheet to take home with all the information on. I will run through everything you should expect during the healing process at the end of the appointment.
